On the homepage of almost every site there is a link to the category listings at that site. This is like a sitemap to all the link pages. So the search engine spider hits the main site page, follows the link to the category page and then follows those links to the page that contains your listing. These are all visible links so a human can follow them as easily as a search engine spider.
